There are a ton of in-depth reviews on YouTube but in short, the difference is all in the camera. The Pro has a camera better suited for professional use and for those that are accustomed to doing post processing to achieve the final results they are looking for. Things like a 1 inch sensor, adjustable aperture, 10-bit color, HDR and H.265 compression. The Zoom Is a 1/3 sensor which still takes great photos but now you have an optical zoom which can come in quite handy. The zoom also includes one additional mode called Dolly Zoom. You’ll just have to Google it and see it for yourself on YouTube. It’s neat but may not something that interests you. Is it worth the extra money? It is if you are serious about photography. I think for the average consumer, the zoom will be just fine. I went with the Pro but do wonder if I should’ve just went with the Zoom.

If you're aiming strictly for photography and especially daylight, then the Zoom will likely give you everything you need. Even if the camera sensor is smaller, with huge amounts of light available during the day, you will be hard pressed to notice the difference. You are also likely to enjoy the flexibility of having the optical zoom on the camera (which does not exist on the Pro). The Pro is more of a device for videographers or night photographers. Zooming optically is not a feature that filmmakers utilize (other than the Hitchcock'esque effect the Zoom can do). The larger sensor provides greater quality in the pictures during low light scenarios which is night, or the less likely scenario of shooting indoors (with a drone? I mean I guess you could do it but very very few reasons why). So it depends on who you are and what you want. I bought the Pro as my primary target is movies. If I were just doing aerial photography and didn't care about night, I would save the money and get the zoom.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I Looked into both drones. The Zoom was about $200 Cheaper.. But the Pro has the 1" camera witch I thought was better. You are able at later date to buy the zoom camera & switch back and forth on same drone. Eather one you get, you will be happy!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Mavic 2 Pro features a 1" sensor codesigned with Hassleblad (the first camera on the moon!) so it's much more powerful for low light environments and offers more flexibility in post. The Mavic 2 Zoom has a smaller sensor, but offers 2x optical zoom which allows you to be incredibly creative with quickshots like DollyZoom.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Pro is so much more worth it compared to the zoom
