Do you still need a iPhone with this one null

No I have a S8 plus and it works fine also with a iPad, iPod, and Samsung tab 8.4.

Any iOS or Android device can be used, as long as the versions coincide with the Mavic Pro's requirements. More information can be found on DJI's website.

Yes I have an iPhone 6s and it fits perfectly in the remote. I do believe however that you can use an android phone as well as long as you have the DJI GO App

You can use a smartphone or controller.
