Dear customer, the DJI Mic 2 supports standalone recording. When recording in standalone mode, the transmitter saves an audio file every 30 minutes. Once the storage is full, the transmitter will automatically stop recording. Method to enable standalone recording: Short press the transmitter's record button, and the recording indicator will remain solid red to indicate internal recording is in progress. Should you need any further assistance, please feel free to contact our DJI support at http://www.dji.com/support, we are always here to help. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Wishing you a wonderful day! Best Regards, ;DJI Support
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It can. Each mic has its own internal hard drive that can store about 12 hours of recording each. When sent to the camera each signal can also be independently controlled. You just have to remember to hit record on each transmitter before rolling to get that backup recording. It’s saved me in a pinch when I had some issues with noise going into the camera because of a faulty preamp on the camera. The individual audio from each mic is easy to access via usb3 cable as if it were simply a Hard Drive.
