• It's for the drone and it is the controller. It doesn't need a phone or any extra equipment to fly the drone. Open box means- it's just a new product with all that came with the new product, the box has just been opened, nothing has been taken from the "open box" product.

• I purchased this separately to use with my DJI Air 2S. Works great. Comes with the controller, spare control sticks and a type-c to type-c cable. Easy to use and DJI does a great job of updating the firmware.
