You can shoot with manual settings and can save as jpeg or jpeg and raw. I did a night time lapse of the moon with moving clouds. Set the iso, then set the shutter speed to a one second length and an interval of taking a frame every four seconds. The result was a precompiled video.

You can set things to manual and take pictures, but it can not long exposure, since it does not have physical film or aperture to delay a exposure. Not to mention, as a action camera with low MP the low light aspect it not very good. Not a lot of good action shots happen at night time anyway. 2. It takes pictures and when it is done, it will stitch them together into a video clip.
