It does not extent. It stands about 8 inches tall so you would have to mount it on something if you are using it on a desk. I did a video showing how to use this in a studio. On youtube just search RolandDigsIt and see my video review on the DJI Osmo 3. See pic below for full title.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The included tripod just unfolds. You need to put it on a table or flat surface. If you need to use a "standard" sort of camera support, any tripod with a 1/4" 20 thread mounting screw (standard on all tripods) is all you need. You don't need a big heavy tripod! Just something strong enough to hold a very lightweight Pocket 3 or an iPhone or something.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No extension at all. And I find the pocket already stands up by itself without that tripod. Sometime I use the hard case as a stand. For me it’s useless.
