It will return to home at a low battery point. It will also hover as well. I also do believe you can use an iPad as your visual as long as the iPad is updated enough to support the DJI app. Hope this helps.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, once the battery drops to 30% it will automatically return to home as long as you have a home location saved. The battery percentage for the return to home feature can also be changed to whatever you like, I believe 30% is default. Also you can use your phone or a tablet to operate the drone or just as a screen if your utilizing the controller.

Please try again later.Yes it has auto return when the battery hits critical it does hover in place when it loses GPS or rc signal or if you let go of the controls and I started out using my note 9 but took a old Samsung tab A and turned it into a dedicated monitor for it
