Yes but will only stop low light effect and to much light also as for trees small Branch's can't see and will clip on left and right ie range sensor not much dead on or will graze so no don't relie on unless you'd have 2000 to spend on more advanced units

To my knowledge, the obstacle avoidance sensor is only on the front of the drone. If you flew backwards or sideways into a tree you would probably hit it. There are sensors on the bottom that might help you not drop straight down into a tree, but I'm not sure. The good thing is you can find a safe way up, then you can fly up above everything in your yard.

It was obstacle avoidence in the front only. I recommend buying the fly more package because it comes with the propeller guards.
