“what color of light should be coming through the cable ? Mine shows red, but I can't get the sound through the converter to my sound box”

• The light will be red in color. When you say sound box what Exactly are you talking about because you should be able to connect toslink from one device to another for sound only

• Mine shows a red light also. You may want to check your "input" designation on your sound box or remote to insure you are on the "optical" input
