This switch allows three INPUTS into ONE TV, at one at a time. I have cable TV in the #1 position, and a DVD player in the #2 position. I can switch (hence the name of the unit) between the two inputs as needed.

TVs generally come with one or two HDMI ports and you use those up quickly with DVD players and game systems. But say you want to add a Roku streaming stick (like I did). I didn't have anymore HDMI slots so I hooked this box up to one of the HDMI ports on the TV and now I have 3 extra HDMI slots to use for other things. It is an addition to your TV's HDMI port. You cannot connect two tvs to it.
