Should work great for that
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This would still only work to hook-up one or the other at a time to the TV. You'd still need to unplug it from HDMI port on the Xbox and into the PS4 each time while leaving the other end in the same TV port. I have both systems and I used to use two separate HDMI cords connected to our TV but you can buy an HDMI splitter dual cord like I did so that one end goes in the HDMI port of the TV and then it has two output HDMi cords that you can hook one up to the Xbox & one to the PS4. Which works better for me as on my TV there is only one HDMI which provides a more optimal gaming experience such as the one more optimized for PC connections. Just make sure you purchase one that is long enough to reach each device from the TV HDMI port & one that is most optimal for your TV's picture technology such as for 4K streaming from Xbox One or PS4 or 4K HDR if your TV is higher 4k HDR standard.
