• Yes it is compatible with the iPad 2nd generation. Just as long as it's the 30pin iPad. Not the 2nd generation iPad Air which needs a lightning cable.

• Yes, this is compatible with the iPad 2. (It’s not compatible with the iPad Air 2, which came out in 2014.)
