“It doesn't seem to power CPU I have HP pavilion Slimline s3700y. The PSU powers the drive and cd but doesn't seem to power the cpu. Any ideas? I used the cable bridge from the previous psu because of the size difference.”

You will need to connect the power cable for the CPU (4-6pin connector). There are two connections to the motherboard, 1) the huge brick that is the main power for the motherboard, and 2) the CPU power cable that is a four to six pins connector. This connector should be located close to the processor.

I'm not sure why you need a cable bridge from your previous power supply. If I had to guess, that would be the reason you're not getting power. If you plug it directly into the motherboard and it still does not power up, then you may have an issue with the power supply or the motherboard itself.
