• It is a USB cable extender, not a LAN cable extender, Wrong Connectors.

• I used the cable to extend the length of an existing USB cable. The cable that came with my Ham radio was not long enough to connect the PC to my radio. The Best Buy cable has a standard female and male USB connector. By adding the BB cable I am able to connect it to a PC USB port and the other end is connected to the USB cable which is connected to my radio. I guess you could call the BB cable an adapter. It is just a basic USB extension cord. I hope my long explanation helps.
