• This will not work for a phone as the plug is fundamentally different, i.e. this is an RCA plug where all phones I know of use the standard headphone plug.

• Most Likely. The 3.5 mm jack is a standard headphone jack which is also the most standard jack on cell phones. A couple of things to consider: First, the black plastic barrel behind the headphone jack is a very common size (11.5 mm diameter) -- but not "Ultra Slim" like some other cables. This MAY require you to remove the case of your phone if the jack doesn't go in all the way. Second, many of the new smart phones have removed the headphone jack and may require a special adapter (iPhone 7S/7S plus, Galaxy S8/S8 Edge, HTC 11, Lenovo Moto Z2, and other future models).
