Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The articulating hard floor tool does not attach to any of the Dyson cord-free machines that utilize the quick-release attachments. The only Dyson cord-free that it will attach directly to are the V6 models. You can purchase an adaptor, which would fit between the tool and your machine, in order to get this tool to work with your V11. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

I apparently did not read the ad close enough to notice that this would not work with the V8 but the picture looked like all other attachments I've got and I must've assumed it would work. I ordered this but BestBuy would not let me return it because the box was 'opened'. Please read all specs before you buy online.
