I just chatted with Dyson because I was having a similar issue with my 9 ft x 12 ft area rugs. Here is what Dyson told me on chat... Dyson cleaner heads are designed to seal to the flooring. The carpets are showing to not be compatible with the high suction level of the vacuum. The vacuum will require air flow through the carpets to pick up the debris and allow for movement over the flooring. As your vacuum is not moving when on this would indicate that the vacuum is effectively suctioning to the floor and is incompatible. We try to make them work on a variety of flooring types and unfortunately, we are unable to account for everything.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it’s so hard to vacuum with this bc the head is too close to the carpet and the suction is more than you need for the carpet. I have the same issue on area rug. If there would be a level change on it, it would solve the problem
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Ball Animal 2 features Dyson ball technology, which allows for easy navigation with the turn of a wrist. The cleaner head on this machine is self-adjusting, meaning that it raises and lowers to seal in suction across all floors. Ultimately, the machine being hard to push will likely be the result of suction forming an air tight seal between the cleaner head and the floor. The suction power on this machine may be too powerful for your carpeting. You may wish to check with your carpet manufacturer to see if they recommend a vacuum with lower suction power. If we can assist, please feel free to reach out to us directly at [email protected]. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
