The three prong plug has nothing to do with power consumption and circuit breaker tripping. I would suggest that you try to use a relatively unloaded outlet with this vacuum, or turn off other items on the same circuit. (like lights) In other words, disconnect other loads to reduce the annoying breaker trips.

We've not received any reports like this regarding any of our technology, and we'd be glad to walk through some troubleshooting steps with you. I do want to confirm as well, that all Dyson products are made to UL standards. The UL stands for "Underwriters Laboratory" which is an independent and non-profit organization that tests electrical components and equipment for potential hazards. When something is UL-listed, it meets the organization’s requirements for safety. All Dyson products meet UL requirements. Feel free to contact us directly via email at [email protected]. We will be in touch! Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
