It did suck up our throw rugs and that is why we got rid of it. The power if great for large area rugs or carpet in the home, but literally sucks up the throw rugs. Would be great if Dyson added a function to dial down the power...

The Multi Floor 2 has 245 air watts of suction power, and while it does have a spinning brushbar, it can be disabled for vacuuming on bare floors. You might find the suction to be too powerful when vacuuming thinner or smaller area rugs, that are not fixed down to the flooring underneath. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
