“How can I be sure this won't scratch my hardwood floors. My ancient electrolux had a setting for hard floors and a setting for carpet. On the hard floors the brush didn't spin so it was just the base gliding across the wood, suctioning up the dirt.”

There is an on off switch to disable the brush when using it on hardwood surfaces
