No, if it's attached to the vacuum then it's on. The v10 does have adjustment for the amount of vacuum the motor head uses.

None of our cordless models have the capability to shut that off. Our upright models and most of the canister models offer brush bar control. If you have bare/hard floors and are concerned with spinning bristles, a soft roller head is available for purchase separately; which was the tool engineered especially for hard floors.
