Hello gpaw2, This is Miella from Dyson. To reset the filter life on the machine, press and hold the Standby button on the remote control. The machine's display screen will countdown from five, finishing with the default screen. This will reset the combination filter life. You can also reset your filter life in your settings on the Dyson Link app. Hope this helps! Miella Dyson Customer Support
