• Yes! Works the same when the heat setting as well. So it will automatically turn on when it sensors the temperature is higher then what you set it to. And shuts off once it reaches your desired temperature.

• Yes you can set it to a temperature and it will go on or off. We have never used the cooling part only the heater.
