Q: QuestionIs it energy efficient? as i'm trying to sub running the furnace in my small home for a dyson heater.

• A:Answer Electric heaters are extremely inefficient. With the heater on it’s a 1500w heater, it should be enough to heat a medium size room. Electricity is cheap so 1500watthours isn’t going to cost much. But this can’t heat your whole house.

Q: Questioncan it take Covid virus out of the air?

• A:Answer Hi there Dee, this is Tia from Dyson. With regard to Dyson purifiers, we haven't tested our units with the COVID-19 virus specifically. We highly recommend using purification if you can, as many of us are spending much more time inside our homes, generating indoor pollution from cooking, cleaning, from wood-burning stoves etc. and purifiers can remove those pollutants from the indoor environment. Dyson purifier fans removes a range of contaminants from the air and purifies to remove 99.97% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns from the home. It also removes pollen, pet dander and odors such as cigarette smoke and cooking smells. • A:Answer I would recommend the manufacture first and then go to Amazon. I purchase my HEPA FILTERS from Amazon and be they are half the cost of Brand name but the exact quality.

Q: QuestionSince this model does not include wifi connectivity, can you plug it into a smart plug and control it from there? Or at least turn it off/on from the smart plug’s app?

• A:Answer While Dyson says no (likely for liability reasons), it is possible to use with a smart outlet adapter. I have used with a TPLink Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Outdoor Plug (EP40/EP40A) that is a 15A rated outlet adapter. The Dyson Hot + Cool will likely not work with outlets rated below that as many do not provide 15A. While this particular outlet adapter has two outlets, I would not recommend plugging anything in the second outlet that requires anything but a minimum power draw. Keep in mind that the Dyson Hot + Cool HP01 does not support resume after a power outage, so you will still need to use the remote control or the button on the device to resume operation.
