• Hi Marie. The Pure Cool Purifying Fan cools a person by moving air over and around them. It is not an AC unit. We hope this helps!

• It does make a difference, we use it for circulation and air quality and as a stand alone AC it will depend on how hot it gets in your home, we use both AC and pure cold.
