I believe Dyson's website says that speeds 1-2 or 1-3 run the purifier, while the higher speeds 3-10 apply the cool air. Not exactly what you were looking for, but something similar. I have had other brand air purifiers, and they all have a fan component. It must suck in unpurified air and blow out the clean air. The benefit of this one is it oscillates more, has a lot more speed choices, and provides cool air.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Les, this is Kelly with Dyson. The TP01 Pure Cool Tower will purify the air, only while the fan is on and in use. Air will get drawn in through the bottom of the unit, purified as it passed through the filter, and then the filtered air is then blown in to your room through the loop. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No separate functions, whenever you turn the fan on, its starts purifying the air.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have two of these units and from what I have seen, you need to be running the fan. That being said, it has 10 speeds so you could put it down to 1 or 2 and probably not even know that it is running. I believe the fan helps pull the air in for the purifier. It is a great purifier, it has taken the pet and mold smells out of the areas that we use it in. I highly recommend it.
