I bought the Dyson fan for my room, the heat in my room is unbearable at times, it cannot be turned off as well.you will feel the fan when it's at its highest number which is 10. But most nights I don't feel it because the heat is to strong.i can't speak on the purifying because I haven't noticed any purification. Hope that helps
