“If you dont replace the filter when the machine prompts you to, can you still use it as a fan/heater, just knowing that the air probably isn't as purified?”

Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for your interest in the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool Link air purifier. You can use the machine for a short time, between filter changes, but we would not recommend long-term use of the air purifier without replacing the filter. Filter life is about 4382 hours; if the unit is used 12 hours every single day, the filter should last you about a year. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
