When set to Auto mode, the machine intelligently selects the most efficient airflow to reduce particles in the air. When it reaches its target, the machine will slowly reduce the airflow - instead of simply switching off - to maintain this target level. It then switches to idle mode, where the machine is still monitoring and reporting, but using minimal airflow. This means that following a pollution event, the purifier heater doesn’t continue to run at a constant, and perhaps unnecessary airflow after reacting. Best wishes, Dan
