• The system tells you when you have to change the filter once you hook everything up via wifi.

• Yes, the filters do need to be replaced and it depends on how much use the fan is getting.

• Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. The filter on the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool will need to be changed every 6 months or year, depending on how often it is used. If used for 24 hours each day, it will need to be changed once every 6 months. If used for 12 hours or less per day, it will need to be changed every year.
