Hi there Richard, this is Tia from Dyson. Happy to clarify! Dyson purifying machines are amazing in that there is no Ionization used to purify the air and our machines do not generate ozone. Thanks for your support of Dyson technology! Best wishes, Tia Dyson Customer Support
