“I have/had (warranty issue - Dyson tech says I'll be getting a TP07 as replacement) a DP04 & remember reading it could be placed on a desk/nightstand. The TP07 is so much taller, can it also be placed on a desk or does it HAVE to be on the floor?”

I think it is too tall for anything other than the floor. It would tower over everything on a table.
