The Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde™ TP09 is designed with safety and air quality in mind. It does not produce or utilize ozone in its operation. Unlike some air purifiers that employ ionization technologies, which can generate ozone as a byproduct, Dyson's purifiers rely on mechanical filtration methods. This approach ensures the removal of pollutants without introducing additional substances into the air. The TP09 model features a Selective Catalytic Oxidation (SCO) filter that effectively destroys formaldehyde by breaking it down into carbon dioxide and water. This process is efficient and does not produce harmful byproducts like ozone. Additionally, the TP09 is equipped with a fully sealed HEPA filtration system that captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, including allergens and pollutants. This ensures that the air circulated back into the room is clean and free from contaminants.
