Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for your interest in the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool Link purifiers. Both models are designed to clean the same size area. The bigger the room, the longer the machine will take to purify it as there is more air in the room. In a room of 139ft², the purifier fan will purify the room in 27 minutes. In a smaller room, it will take less time to purify the air; in a bigger room, it will take longer to purify the air. The Hot + Cool does have the added feature of being able to use it as a heater as well as a fan for cool air, providing you with year-round use. Best Wishes, Krystal Dyson Customer Service

The larger one is not as strong but has a wider range. Both work really well for clearing up the air and I can definitely tell the difference. Nice thing about the small one is it also includes heat which is great for camping or in a garage, etc. Thanks, Alex M
