Hello, thank you for your question regarding the Dyson Purifier Humidify + Cool PH03. Please be informed that the filter is not supposed to go in the water tank. The filter is designed to be placed in the main body of the unit, where it can effectively capture pollutants from the air. The water tank is used solely for the humidification process.
