“Would this cool down a basement of about 500 sq. ft.? I do not have an option to vent an A/C and am looking for substitutes.”

This is just a fan with filtration. It moves air pretty good but it won’t cool the air.

As a result, the air temperature does not change, instead it's the air flow which is designed to cool you. The air provided is consistent and smooth, similar to a powerful breeze of air. This differs from bladed fans, which result in buffeting and provide choppy air.
