Hello Alice, this is Kelly with Dyson. If you are vacuuming on carpeting, in Boost mode you'll have up to 10 minutes of run time, 18/20 minutes in Auto mode, and 45 minutes in Eco mode. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
