No I don’t believe it scratches hardwood floors.

The high torque cleaner head is designed to work across all floor types eliminating the need for two cleaner heads. It features stiff nylon bristles to drive deep into carpet and soft, anti-static carbon fiber filaments to capture dust from bare floors. The high torque cleaner will automatically sense and adapt to changes in the floor type so that the right amount of suction is provided. You will not get the same benefits with the soft roller cleaner head. If you have more delicate flooring or do not wish to use a spinning brush bar, you can purchase the soft roller head separately.
