No trigger lock. Whoever said it isn’t bothersome after an hour either has extremely strong hands or lying. It’s light but not that light. Hand and finger start hurting after 10 mins

You do have to hold the trigger the whole time, but it is very ergonomic with how you hold it so it does not cause strain even after an hour of use.

You squeeze a trigger to turn it on and hold the trigger until done.  No different than previous models.

You have to hold the button while you are vacuuming. Not ideal but it does save battery life because the vacuum is never running when you're not actively vacuuming.

You do hold a switch down, but I have to say it’s not difficult.  I’m not young, and it’s never been an issue for me using this model.  I love my Dyson!
