• I have found it very powerful. I would say that it would work just fine on shag carpeting.

• Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The V7 Trigger is one of our handheld machines, and it does not come with an included wand or floor tool, for floor vacuuming. You can, however, use it to clean area rugs without issue. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
