QuestionCan you take the battery out and plug it to the charger or do you need to plug the whole machine to the charger?

- Answer We plug the charger into the machine. It’s pretty small. Slightly bigger than the charger of a MacBook.

Questioncomparison charts for 2 models Animal and Absolute-V-8 , it lists the Animal as Hypoallergenic ( Hepa filter) - the more expensive newer model,Absolute, says Hypoallergenic - NO, but uses the HEPA filter also, explain Need it for an asthematic.

QuestionWhenever in use we had to keep the power button pressed while using. Is that still the case with newer models, because I have small hands and it's actually painful to keep the power button held down for 30 min? Are new models just a push and stay button?

QuestionThis item is offered in a variety of colors/finishes. I can find no way to order on by color online. Is this something the Best Buy allows you do to when purchasing a $500 vacuum? It would be nice. Thank you. Jon

- Answer Dyson vacuums are different colors for different models. You can’t get the absolute V8 in any other color than what it’s offered in. For a different color you have to get a different model.

QuestionWe just got the dyson v7 motor head vacuum and are wondering if we can keep it mounted in our garage - we live in Texas so summer temps reach up to 105 or so which means the garage gets even hotter in the summer.

QuestionI have lost the charger to my Dyson V6. i cannot find an adapter tip that works, I don't know the adapter size. I did come across an adapter that fits but what Voltage do I place it on? The 7V, 9V, 12v? can't order online. need compatible generic

Most retailers that carry Dyson vacuums may carry replacement parts; and we also carry replacement chargers at Dyson. QuestionHi, I'm shopping for a Dyson and i'm torn between the Dyson Ball Multi Floor Bagless upright and the V8 Absolute. Asides from the obvious difference in cost and cordless vs. Ball technology. Which is best for wood, carpet and tile floors?

- Answer I own several of both: the latest Dyson Ball Multi Floor Bagless upright and the V8 Absolute. Each has benefits. We also recently bought a couple Robotic Vacuums. While they do not pick up to the level of either the Big Ball or the V8, we run the robots 3 days a week, and touch up with the V8. Any spills are best handled by the V8. The V8 Absolute is killer on hardwood floors with the smooth Motorhead. We use the Big Ball about once a month now; it is simply not needed and the cord is a real pain, when the V8 is so light & cordless. I recommend the V8, without question.

QuestionDo you have to manually depress the trigger on the Absolute V8 the entire time you are using it? What about on the V7 and V6 by comparison?

- Answer On the V-8 you do have to depress the trigger the entire time. But it is a very light trigger pull and the overall weight of the entire unit is light. My 3-year old daughter easily vacuums with this thing.

- Answer The V-8 absolute is only $45 dollars more than the V-8 Animal, not $200. The Absolute comes with an additional cleaner head (the Soft Roller) for use on easy-to-scratch floors.

QuestionI just purchased dyson v8 absolute. I do not see the curved attachment that let's you reach on top of cupboards as shown in advertised picture. Am I missing something? If not why does it say it comes with all attachments made for it?

- Answer Cleaning the stairs couldn't be easier than using the V8 Absolute. It's simply amazing as I was able to clean the stairs without any issues using the smaller attachment. We have a total of 20 steps on the stairs and this vacuum cleaned it easily.

QuestionWhat's the difference between the V6 and the V8 other than the price? What accessories comes with the V6?

- Answer V6 stays charged for only 30 minutes and is less powerfull. Example I have a dog and the V6 would not pick all of his hair up from the carpet, but V8 does. I purchased V6 at Costco and returned it because it was not strong enough. If you don't have pets V6 would be fine but if you have a house over 1400 Sq Ft, I think you would need a V8.
