• Yes, ecobee has instructions for as variety of configurations including boilers.

• I have the Ecobee 4 and use a boiler (which is connected to a hydronic system (meaning forced hot air, but still using a boiler) and it works fine. Having done the set-up, I don't see it as being an issue. But, like I did, you can contact Ecobee first and they will tell you if there is something in your system which is not compatible.
