The house I bought came with a Honeywell Lyric and was good for about a year and a half. Then it seemed to have trouble staying connected with Alexa as well as other wifi connection problems. Finally got tired of it and looked at the favorable reviews of this thermostat and got it. We already have an Alexa show and couple of dots so didn't need the Ecobee model with built in Alexa. Installation was very easy and set up was a breeze. It was easy to connect to Alexa. This has all the eco- friendly and learning features that are in other smart thermostats although so far the weather here has been mild so I haven't had to interact with it much. So far so good.

I was so resistant to a digital thermostat. Now I love it so much I got another one for my shop. When I go in on those hot or cold days I'd have to give myself an extra 15-30 minutes to make it bearable. Or if I forgot to turn off the unit, I'd have to go back. Now I open up my little app and in 3 seconds I'm done. I can turn things on and off from anywhere. And I remembered the hvac guy said this was great system because it has some sort of an adapter that made it so he didn't have to rewire stuff or something fancy in hvac talk. Because it's saving me at home and work, another person in the building got it too. I can't say enough good thing's about it.

I finally took the plunge and purchased this fabulous Smart Thermostat. It was sure easy to install and has worked perfectly controlling the temperature I prescribed in the set up. I love that it comes alive when you walk up to it, and the weather is easily available. Love this thermostat!

I initially purchased the ecobee3 lite since it comes with the without C wire adapter, however during installation I found the C wire was actually disconnected and used it without the adapter. Installation was simple, and configuration was easy via the touch screen and directions on screen. It's be working without issue, and I also have setup the app on my Note 8 and it works great. I would purchase again.

I did a lot of research and I was going to get a Nest, but the HVAC company that we have been working with recommended Ecobee. Before getting any smart thermostat, please check your furnace for a C wire. My thermostat setup had the humidistat right below it. The wall plate the came with the Ecobee Smart Thermostat was big enough to cover the thermostat and humidistat holes. The HVAC company installed it for me. If you are not familiar with installing thermostats, please have an HVAC company install it. After installation, I was ablE to program it through the app. There is a sensor built into the thermostat and it comes with an extra external sensor, which I put in my office. I am able to see what the temperatures are in each room. After a good furnace cleaning and thermostat installation, My HVAC is working better and I have better control over my heating and cooling. With Alexa built in, I moved my Echo Dot into another room. The speakers on the thermostat are awesome for a small device. I used some wall paint to touch up where the old thermostat was. I plan on painting the walls next summer.

The thermostat was fairly easy to install, both on my home heating/AC system and home network. The instructions provided were excellent. I used the PEK unit and had an issue with the AC compressor turning on with the fan. Ecobee's customer service, via their online chat, was excellent in solving the issue, which was caused by a wire to the AC compressor that needed to bypass the PEK unit. A great feature is the ability to set both the Heat and AC settings automatically rather than 'heat' or 'cool' only settings. My HVAC system has the ability to continuously run the fan at very low speeds but the Ecobee 3 does not have that functionality. It would be a nice improvement if this was offered.

Works great, and easy to install, needed to upgrade from the old programmable thermostat, and this is what I decided on, didn't want a smart thermostat to make decisions for me although with the recent update this one does, need one to control from an app, tells the weather on screen also!

Great fit and finish. Snappy software, responsive touch screen, and great app. I struggled with the install since I have never done a thermostat but I reccomemd using the app walkthrough vs the paper instructions. Much better. Love being able to adjust temp without getting up or being home!

Had one hang up during installation, as my HVAC unit did not have a C-Wire in use. Ecobee Customer Service was one of the BEST I have ever experienced! (6 Stars) Called the help-line, on hold less than 2 minutes, and they had an easy solution for me in 5 minutes... and checked back afterward via email to make sure the thermostat was working! Ecobee 3 Unit is very user friendly! Also, my electric bill dropped almost 30% in the first month! Can’t recommend this purchase enough!

This is a great product if you want to be able to control your thermostat from bed, or if you just want a thermostat that looks like it is from the future. I had a couple problems setting it up, but that isn’t because of the product. I didn’t completely read the section in the manual that said if you have any red wire it needs to go into the RH slot on the thermostat, so I wasn’t getting power at first, but once I realized, it works like a charm. It’s very convenient to be able to make quick adjustments wherever I am, and I’m sure it will save me money in the long run. If you only have a simple heater setup and you don’t care about built in voice control, there is no need to get the more expensive Ecobee thermostat. This one will do the trick.

Overall nice quality/appearance, easy to read display, easy to program with the app and very detailed instructions that cover a variety of potential installations depending on your particular HVAC system. Our existing wiring included a C-wire so I can't comment on the PEK installation. Total install time was under one hour and that included a little repainting where the previous t-stat base was located. The provided cover plate (about 6 5/8" diameter) would have been more than adequate size to cover the unpainted area but I felt the repainting would look better than a large white plate behind the T-stat which is about 4" square at the face and smaller at the base plate. Purchase price was only $80 plus tax when combining Best Buy sale with a $50 utility company instant rebate. A great value at this price. Two suggestions to make this a five star product would be better quality wall anchors (cheap quality plastic makes them hard to push in without crushing them even after predrilling the wall as insteucted) and the app seems to be a little slow to respond to user inputs.

It just got installed by Geek Squad even thoughwe bought it on 3/19/20. It looks really nice compared to my 13 year old thermostat. So far everything is working off the wireless and also the app. Just bought another one today.

I have an older furnace so I figured setting this up would be difficult, but download the Ecobee app and it will walk you through it with pictures and videos. This thermostat has everything I want without all the crAzy "learning" aspect of Nest. Looks cool too!

It was easy to install and set up. I also like the sleek look. The picture is the new install next to the old one. Really like the newer look better.

I purchased this controller for a heat pump system which is 18 years old to replace the original thermostat that stopped working. I give it a 5 star rating because I can find nothing to complain about. Pros: pricing was good for a smart thermostat and the install was very easy. It requires a few minutes to remove the old unit and get this one ready for install, but the app walked me through the install painlessly. Con: the original thermostat had a wiring configuration which differed from the Ecobee models given during installation but the system works like it did originally so I fretted the wiring needlessly while I was installing it. I would buy this product again

Very happy with this product so far. I’ve had this for over 6 months and rarely ever had any problems. Has disconnected from the WiFi a couple of times. It took me a little bit to get the wiring right, that was probably on me, but looking at their support page got that figured out. It works well. Easy to program. It’s saved me some money for the 8-10 hours that I’m not home. Or days that we go on vacation. Great piece of equipment. I hope it lasts, other than that I’m pretty happy with it. You will love it too. Pros-: Size, the looks (people notice it oh wow that looks nice), accessible from anywhere, easy to program.

After having an ecobee in a vaca rental unit, we had to get one. Our installation was more than challenging for us but, with the help of our HVAC guy, we got it done! We love the ease of it and having the app on our phones makes it easy to adjust while your away, on your way home or while in bed…highly recommended.

I originally wanted this thermostat for the ability to set the differential temp range between on and off. This was going to help me with short cycling from my old Honeywell thermostat. It did help and has plenty of settings you can adjust. It met my needs 100%. Now the reporting is amazing. You can login and see when your AC or heat was on. It has a history of on, fan on, and outside temp. Then it can provide a monthly report of how efficient your system is. 100% glad I bought this thermostat! Picture is an example of the on off history it can show you; this day was hot and can see how long the AC was on.

Love my ecobee! Easy to install myself! Eco friendly! Slick design!

I’d give it about 4.5 stars. Fairly easy to install but had better luck searching online how to install the proper wiring than the included instructions. Works nicely with HomeKit and voice commands using Siri. Also looks pretty cool compared to my old thermostat
