“I just purchased a new Nest to replace a dead one and now have learned that the Alexa command to turn OFF the AC or Heat will register in the App but will not turn the Thermostat Off. Nest Tech Support just verified this. Will the ecobee3 lite do this?”

I have not tried to turn off or on my ecobee. I do use Alexa to “set temperature “ to a specific number and Alexa does it every time. With ecobee I am able to use the app, home favorites on iPhone or Alexa. All works great
