Yes. This is the major advantage of the ecobee3 over other smart thermostats such as the Nest.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes - you can assign any of the remote sensors as the "main" sensor. For us, our downstairs thermostat is down the guest bedroom hallway where no one ever goes. So I assigned one of the remote sensors in the kitchen as the "main".
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, that is exactly what the ecobee remote sensors are for.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, that's exactly what the little remote sensors are for. You'll probably need to pick up more as you need them for other rooms in your home. I've got the Ecobee3 and original sensor, plus another pair. Works great for me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. I have the same issue and put the remote sensor in my bedroom. The savings month over month were immediate. I was able to set the hallway at a higher temp and it would keep the bedroom at the proper temp only when I am in there. Other than that it will resume normal operation once I leave. I love the fact that when I get home and go into the bedroom I hear the AC kick on almost immediately!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can mount the sensor in any part of the house that you'd like to use the sensor readings from. You can then decide if you'd like to use that sensor's temperature at certain times (Home, Away, Sleep, or manually) to be included in the overall temperature when the ecobee 3 is using it to decide if to kick on the A/C (or heater) or not. It works great if you have a multi floored home.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the sensor could be installed in the bedroom.
