It does not require the room sensor to work/ be connected before it will work.

It has a built in term sensor so you do not have to use any room sensors at all. You can add sensors later (as I did)

It has a built in sensor and one extra for placement in a room. The extra one is not required. However, these extra sensors are what sets the ecobee apart from the other smart thermostats. Ecobee can monitor more than one room and learn your patterns. It will work but not to it’s potential.

The ecobee thermostats are stand-alone products; they do not require remote sensors. However, the sensors help balance the temperature in a given area.

It comes with one sensor and works for the full house. If you purchase additional sensors, you program the echobee to each sensor/room and can customize settings based upon multiple rooms.

Yes it can work without the extra sensors, just don’t activate them. They are great if you have a room that is always hotter or colder than the rest of the house.

The thermostat can be used without a room sensor, it has a temperature and movement sensor built in to the main unit so you just install it in place of your existing thermostat.

Yes it has a sensor in the thermostat and the 4 comes with an extra censor to put somewhere else if you would like
