You need 5 wires with blue wire to power the unit, but it comes with an extender that will let you use it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know per-say. But EcoBee's website has a compatibility tool: https://www.ecobee.com/compatibility/thermostat/ That should help you determine if you can use EcoBee.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it should, you can go to their website (https://www.ecobee.com) and do a lookup to see if your specific situation is covered. The device comes with an adapter that handles even the most basic of situations. If you download their app to your phone, it will do a walk through for setup and then you can verify if your situation will work. If you can't find the answer you are looking for at their website you can send them a screen shot of what you have and they will send back a reply with exactly what wire should go where on the system. I have a fairly middle complex system and I did that before I bought the device to make sure that it would work before I bought mine. During setup after it is installed it will tell you that it detected 3 wires, and ask you questions about your furnace and then on it goes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It comes with a power adapter that you will have to wire to your HVAC system. It’s not terribly difficult and the customer service is excellent if you need assistance with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The box actually contains an adapter to create a powered wire. Check the online instructions on their website for details. I ended up not needing it, but it was a simple process to install.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No you need a wire to power the thermostat Have a professional do it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It comes with a part that helps with that problem. I had an electrician friend install mine, and if I was able to do it on my old furnace with wiring issues I'm sure you can. I would recommend just having the Geek Squad come out and install it if you're not well-versed with how the wiring system works. I was fortunate to have a friend who can speak with customer support and speak their lingo --- which by the way, customer support is extremely helpful and walk you through step by step.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't recall seeing an option for 3 wire in the manual. You must have 4 (no common wire) or 5 (including common wire). If you have 4 (no common wire) you have to use the power adapter breakout box which creates a common wire to the control board but on the Ecobee itself it'll still be 4 wires out of the wall.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, unfortunately you need at least 4 wires.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It comes with a wiring kit that allows you to use it with three wires. It requires you to wire it at the unit. I ended up having 4 wires but looked in the the theee wires since I thought mine only had three.
