Yes, you can enable or disable it from the app. I have my ecobee right next to my Sonos which uses Alexa. No issues here.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Alex can be muted from the device itself. Go to the bottom right corner of the home screen, select the picture of the microphone and select "mic off" You can always go back to the microphone and turn it back on or manually activate Alexa if you only want to control that device without waking up others. Other suggestion: if you have the ability to change the name of the Alexa service on your other device, that can be helpful to keep the controls seperated. I have Amazon, Ecobee and Bose Products. I have changed the name of the Amazon products to respond only to "Echo" while the rest will pick up "Alexa" it has helped tremedously as they are not all trying to respond at once.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the Alexa feature is off by default on the thermostat. You have to enable it if you would like to use it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I have the same situation and I have that feature turned off. But you could have it on and there is tech in the amazon devices for it to answer the call of "Alexa" to which ever device is the closest. So they say you don't need to turn it off. I haven't tested that theory. As I have an Amazon Echo Plus in the same area. Sound is obviously better on that device so I keep it turned off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No need to turn it off just change the wake name on it to amazon or echo so they don’t interfere with each other
