According to one of Ecobee's engineers, he thought it was the exact same unit with the only difference being one is branded carrier and the other is branded Ecobee. While none of the local carrier technicians will give me a price on the carrier branded unit, I suspect it carries a premium price tag over the "regular" unit. Hope to prove this right once we get our new carrier HVAC.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The difference is that the CR model is a Pro, powered by Carrier, model that allows it to work/be compatible with their systems that use/require a communicating thermostat (not the standard, non-communicating with universal wiring).
