Not sure why Best Buy asked me to answer this question given it's two years old, but whatever. Yes, this can be connected to a desktop. Many motherboards have Toslink and 3.5mm options from the integrated sound card. This supports Toslink, 3.5mm, and composite (RCA) cables. Yes it comes with cables and manuals. Stands are available, but they can vary widely in price so do your own research on what you want for aesthetics and budget.
